The Second World War remains the most traumatic event in Dutch history in recent centuries. An event that still serves as a reference point for our moral framework. In determining right and wrong, reference is often made to the war. The Second World War also continues to enjoy unprecedented interest from historians, writers, filmmakers and a broad public.
The KB not only collects all books and magazines relating to the Netherlands in the Second World War. The library also has a large collection of publications from the war: newspapers, war propaganda from various parties, fascist leaflets, resistance newspapers, posters, brochures, children's books, illegal poetry, etc. The KB is therefore one of the heritage institutions in the Netherlands where you can go to study the Second World War in detail.
