Artist album Van Nispen
A highlight are the two watercolours by Anton Mauve. These are not pasted in, but painted directly into the album. This fact proves that there must have been personal contact between Mauve and the most important collector-owner, L.J. van Toulon van der Koog. Both watercolours were painted in The Hague in 1875. The first shows a number of fishing boats lying on the beach, the second a farmer's wife with a goat.
The album fits into the KB collection with other contributions and drawings by Jozef Israëls, Jan Toorop, Richard Roland Holst and Charles Eyck, among others.
